Rye Growers send resolution to OFA
The following resolution has been sent to the OFA concerning Rye Growers in Ontario. If you are a rye grower or are an OFA member we would like to hear from you. We would like your support by e-mailing your MPP, MP and OFA in order to support this cause.
WHEREAS rye is recognized under the NISA program but not companion
programs and has been omitted/overlooked under the recent Ontario Grain
Stabilization Payments (OGSP), and
WHEREAS rye is a grain crop commonly gown throughout Ontario and
provides significant economic activity in the province in terms of flour
milling and livestock feed as well an important rotational crop, and
WHEREAS rye producers are not represented by a board or association
specifically for this commodity,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Ontario Federation of Agriculture
represent the rye growers in Ontario to achieve inclusion in the OGSP
and future stabilization programs for grain growers in Ontario and
Canada by both levels of government.
